Mulled Apple Cider


  • 4 Bottles of Cronins Cider (2 Litres)

  •  1 Litre carton of apple juice

  • 4 to 6 cloves

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 2 cardamom pods (Cardamom pods can be substituted by the juice of 1 lemon) 

  • 1 orange or 1 apple sliced (or both)

  •  Sugar to taste




Pour the cider into a large pot, add the apple juice, spices and fruit slices. Turn the heat up until it almost comes to the boil (don’t allow it to boil).  Turn the heat down to a level that just keeps it warm. Taste and add sugar to your liking.


When you are happy that the balance is just right, serve warm in glasses or mugs.  Enjoy an aromatic and flavoursome festive treat.  


Tip: We recommend adding the spices to the apple juice the night before to allow the spices to infuse.  


We think this enhances the flavour.
